The 2013 Culpepper Salary Budget & Compensation Planning Survey
includes salary increase budget data for over 115 countries and 25 international geographic regions.
[1] Mexico & Central America includes data collected for the following countries and territories:
Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Panama.
[2] Caribbean & West Indies includes the following countries and territories:
Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, and other Caribbean islands and territories.
Cuba was not included in the survey.
[3] South America includes the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil,
Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
[4] European Union includes 27 member states in the European Union. The European Union
breakout is a combination of Eurozone (€) and European Union: Non-Eurozone.
[5] Eurozone includes 17 member states in the European Union [4] that have adopted the
euro (€) as their official currency: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain.
[6] European Union: Non-Eurozone includes 10 member states in the European Union [4]
that have not adopted the euro (€) as their official currency: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary,
Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
[7] Non-European Union includes the following countries in Europe that are not in
the European Union: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Macedonia,
Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
[8] European Free Trade Association (EFTA) is a subset of Non-European Union [7] and
includes the following four member states: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.
[9] Non-European Union: Other includes the following countries in Europe that are not
in the European Union [4]: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova,
Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
[10] Middle East & Western Asia includes countries in the Middle East [11]
and Western Asia [12].
[11] Middle East includes the following countries: Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait,
Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Yemen.
Iran and Syria were not included in the survey.
[12] Western Asia includes the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.
[13] Asia: Central & North includes the following countries: Afghanistan, Kazakhstan,
Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
[14] South & East Asia includes countries in South Asia [15], East Asia [16],
and Southeast Asia [17].
[15] South Asia includes the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
[16] East Asia includes the following countries: China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, South Korea,
and Taiwan.
North Korea was not included in the survey.
[17] Southeast Asia includes data collected for the following countries:
Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste (East Timor), and Vietnam.
[18] Oceania includes the following countries and territories: Australia, New Zealand,
and other Oceania islands & territories.
[19] North Africa is a subset of Africa and includes the following countries: Algeria, Egypt, Libya,
Morocco, and Tunisia. Sudan and Western Sahara were not included in the survey.
[20] Sub-Saharan Africa includes the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Cameroon,
Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa,
Tanzania ,Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
