Culpepper
Survey Methodology
Source of Data
We
collect data directly from HR professionals and our analysts carefully
verify all data before entry into our database. You can use our
data with confidence in both the source and survey methodology.
We collect
data directly from the following sources:
We do not
collect data from consumers.
We do not aggregate or include data from other surveys.
And we do not purchase data from third-party providers.
Surveys Designed
for Business Use by Employers
Culpepper Surveys
are designed for business use by executives, HR professionals, finance
professionals, and other management.
We do
not sell data to consumers, preventing any possible or perceived
conflicts of interest with our corporate participants.
Participation
Requirements
Participation is required in Culpepper Compensation Surveys.
To ensure that we are collecting current data, we require annual participation
as soon as possible after your company's salary reviews. For companies on an
anniversary system, we require annual data submission.
Survey
Cycle
We collect and report updated compensation
data year-round, allowing
you to base your compensation decisions on always-current data. Since we
collect and update compensation data throughout the year, our data more
accurately reflects changes in the market compared to surveys that only
collect and report data once a year.
Publication Schedule
At the beginning of each month, we publish
new datasets with current data for our online reports. After new datasets are
published, you have the option to use the new dataset or continue working with
an existing dataset to ensure consistency in the data you are using.
We provide participants the option to
view cash compensation data adjusted to a common effective salary date using
budgeted base salary increase factors provided by our participants.
Alternatively, you can request reports using unadjusted data collected from
our participants that is not aged.
Data Integrity
Our compensation
specialists
thoroughly review all submitted
survey data for
completeness and accuracy. We
carefully verify all new data submissions before they are imported into our
report databases.
All participants
are required to provide us with contact
information, in case we need to ask questions or resolve issues
about submitted data. If a survey submission is incomplete or contains
questionable data points, our
compensation specialists contact the participant directly by phone or
e-mail to obtain the necessary information.
Throughout
the year, as
new data is imported and old data is removed,
we conduct detailed audits of our survey database to ensure that report outputs
are reliable and valid.
Confidentiality
We fully recognize the
sensitivity of participant data and hold individual company and
employee data
in strictest confidence.
Any and all survey data submitted to Culpepper
is not disclosed to or resold by
third-parties.
Survey data
is only published in aggregate form and is never displayed or released by
Culpepper in such a way that a participant's pay levels, practices, or
personally identifiable information (PII)
could be
determined.
Legal Compliance
We adhere to Safe Harbor Guidelines from the
U.S. Department
of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC), providing
antitrust protection to our survey participants.
Our compensation surveys meet the
U.S.
Department of Labor (DOL) criteria for salary surveys used to determine
prevailing wages for work visas. If your organization needs survey data to
determine the prevailing wage for an H-1B or another work visa, please let us
know the jobs and geographic locations you need to benchmark, and we'll verify
if we have the data to meet your needs.
